Summer Stages Rally 2015 Events

Edwards Wins Summer Stages

Bruce Edwards and Grum Willcock ended up victors in the GMSC Crail Summer Stages in their Darrian T9, winning by a 40 second margin from Gary and Gordon Adam in their Escort.  Both John Rintoul and Tom Morris suffered mechanical woes while in strong positions, and there was a tie for third between the Subarus of Colin Gemmell and Ross Fernie, settling in favour of Colin due to his time on SS1.

Class winners were:
Ross Fernie/Craig Simkiss
Class 5
Barry Renwick/Steve Dargan Class 4
Ross Marshall/Dave Robbson    Class 3
John Marshall/Scott Crawford Class 2
Ross Carbry/Charley Sayer-Payne Class 1

Ross Carbry didn't even know he had an entry until Friday lunchtime, so for a last minute rush he did really well.  Graeme Rintoul and his father Jim were the first GMSC crew home in their Fiesta.

72 of the 91 Seniors entered completed the rally, an exceptionally high proportion, but unfortunately Jock McFarlane, George Fell and Roy Millar all rolled, caught out by tight sections at the airfield.

Rallying returns to Crail for the Kingdom Stages, with a revised date of 14th November.

The Final Countdown

Final Instructions

Thank you for your entry to the Summer Stages, we look forward to welcoming you all on the day. Once again the response has been brilliant, so the stage is set for another big day out at Crail. A few things to tell you, including a few changes from recent events, so sit up and pay attention…..

Summer Stages Update

We have effectively completed the entry process for both the Summer Stages and the Summer Junior Stages, thank you for the tremendous response.  Any entry now received will be added to the reserves; we have limited the Junior field to 10 competitors, allowing us 90 entries to the Summer Stages.  We have already moved 10 competitors from the reserves to the main entry.

If you need to withdraw for any reason, please contact us immediately – you will receive a full refund and make one of our reserves very happy!  If you are still on the reserve list, we will keep updating the unseeded list, so you can see where you are in the queue.

PLEASE NOTE; to maximise the chances of getting everyone through all the stages, the start of SS1 is changed to 08:00.  You may wish to review your travel/scrutineering plans as a result.  We are scrutineering in Leven on Friday night.

MARSHALS: If you are marshalling we will need you on site by 07:15 but in return you get a free bacon roll!!  If you plan to come please email bill.creevy@btinternet.com

SUMMER JUNIOR RALLY

We have moved the closing date for the Junior Rally to Sunday 17th May.  This will allow us to recycle any spare places not used by the Juniors.  Please get your entry in as soon as possible.  If there are any issues contact treasurer@glenrothes-msc.com .

SUMMER STAGES: SENIOR RALLY

We have had a fantastic response for this event and we are now fully subscribed and have a substantial reserve list.  Thank you for your entries and well done to those who navigated their way through the entry system.  We will be able to "promote" a chunk of the reserves once we have the Junior rally finalised, and to that end we have moved its closing date to the 17th May.  We will then provide an updated position to the reserves.

Glenrothes MSC are delighted to return to Crail for another year to stage the Summer Stages and Summer Junior Stages, on 13th June.  We offer 55 miles for the grown ups and 28 miles for the Juniors. We’ve been busy with the concrete again so you can expect an improved surface as we continue to invest in the venue.   If the November event (and Ingliston this year) are an indicator, we expect a bumper entry, so early applications are encouraged.  However, please note that an entry is not complete unless payment is made and the seeding information is completed.
