Notice To All Attending The Kingdom Stages Rally 2015

I have been asked by the RALLY COMMITTEE for Crail to point out the restrictive articles 166 and 167 of the Civil Aviation Authority with regards to small unmanned aircraft, ie drones, and they have expressly wished that these rules shall be strictly adhered to during the Curvy Kit Kingdom Stages Rally on 14th November.

Local police have been informed of the situation and have also requested that NOBODY attempts such from the roadside , which could lead to accident on a public highway.

Thanks,

Ian Park

Junior Ecosse Challenge

Glenrothes Motor Sport Club have always been keen to support the Junior Ecosse Challenge, as it offers a pathway into motorsport, and rallying in particular, for younger motor sport fans.

Following a review, they are looking for a new Championship Co-ordinator, which would be a great opportunity for the right person.  You can find out more here.

Scottish Rally

www.scottishrally.co.uk

Hot on the heels of the Summer Stages is the Scottish Rally, running on the 26th-27th June.

The official word is that there is a serious shortage of marshals, possibly to the point that the event may not be allowed to run. This would be an extremely sad situation, given the history of the event and the support that exists in Scotland for rallying.

If you can lend a hand at any point, our Chief Marshal is Bill Creevy, please give him a call or email on: 07740 374458  bill.creevy@btinternet.com

Edwards Wins Summer Stages

Bruce Edwards and Grum Willcock ended up victors in the GMSC Crail Summer Stages in their Darrian T9, winning by a 40 second margin from Gary and Gordon Adam in their Escort.  Both John Rintoul and Tom Morris suffered mechanical woes while in strong positions, and there was a tie for third between the Subarus of Colin Gemmell and Ross Fernie, settling in favour of Colin due to his time on SS1.

Class winners were:
Ross Fernie/Craig Simkiss
Class 5
Barry Renwick/Steve Dargan Class 4
Ross Marshall/Dave Robbson    Class 3
John Marshall/Scott Crawford Class 2
Ross Carbry/Charley Sayer-Payne Class 1

Ross Carbry didn't even know he had an entry until Friday lunchtime, so for a last minute rush he did really well.  Graeme Rintoul and his father Jim were the first GMSC crew home in their Fiesta.

72 of the 91 Seniors entered completed the rally, an exceptionally high proportion, but unfortunately Jock McFarlane, George Fell and Roy Millar all rolled, caught out by tight sections at the airfield.

Rallying returns to Crail for the Kingdom Stages, with a revised date of 14th November.
