Former Member Succumbs to Accident at Hockenheim  

Al Fleming a former member of GMSC died in an accident at Hockenheim on Friday 11th April while testing his Lotus Elan. Al competed in autotests with a Mini Traveller and Autocross in an ex works 4 wheel drive Capri before concetrating on circuit racing.

He was a great character and will be sadly missed, all at GMSC extend their sympathy to Val, Nick and his family.

2014 Andy Wilson Memorial Autotest 

The Andy Wilson Memorial Autotest took place at Knockhill on 20th April, due to date clashes and a junior rally running on the same day, there were only 7 entries ranging from a lightweight metro to a Micra. Jim Wilson had a very busy week transplanting the engine from the Mini special into the Metro as well as changing the suspension on Elvin Smith's Micra they only finished everything at 8.30 on Saturday night.

Glenrothes Motor Sport Club members had a day of very mixed fortunes at Kames on Sunday the 20th of April.

Dean Ross is looking for a Co-Driver for Scottish Rally Championship events (but not Granite City) and some STRC Events.

Best result yet for BBR rally team.  

Local Kinross teenager and Edinburgh College student Blair Brown scored a best result yet of 3rd place in class at the Brick and Steel Border Counties rally last weekend in Jedburgh. The young rally driver who has been awarded the RSAC Motorsport New Talent Scholarship for the second year in a row tackled the five tough stages along with Co-driver Richard Simmonds from Duns. The BBR Rally team who are backed by QTS Group fought through Snow, Gravel and Ice to bring back their maiden top three finish.

Extreme Karting CHAS Charity Event  

Well done to Glenrothes Motor Sport Club who took 1st overall on the podium at the Xtreme Karting CHAS Charity Event. 

The TEAM of Richard Stewart, Lewis McDougall, Martin Brown, Carol Van Beusekom,Brodie Balfour and Ian Park would like to thank everyone who sponsored them for the Chas fundraiser.

Starting from 4th on the grid Martin slipped through to 3rd on the first corner and had gained 1st by the time he had done half a lap. The positition was never in doubt as Ian had plotted a team strategy and Carol kept up the honours during her stint. 

MSA seeks tenders for Home Countries Rally Championships 

The Motor Sports Association (MSA) has launched individual tender processes for the organisation and promotion of the MSA English, Northern Ireland, Scottish and Welsh Rally Championships from 2015.

In separate Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents the governing body is seeking interested parties to run and promote the championships for a minimum period of five years from 1 January 2015.
