Autotest Updates
GMSC held the first round of the SAMSC Scottish Autotest Championship at Knockhill on Sat. 15/05/21, and after a very successful Andy Wilson Memorial Autotest I am pleased to say that Motorsport events are back, a report is on the SAMSC , GMSC and Scottish Autotest Championship Facebook pages.
The second round of the 2021 Championship run by SDMC will take place on Sunday 13th June at Coneyhatch Farm near Stonehaven, the SRs are posted on the SAMSC and Scottish Autotest Championship Facebook pages, lets give them some support and make it a good entry.
After all the cancelled and postponed events recently, I am glad to report that we WILL be able to have a 2021 SAMSC Scottish Autotest Championship, there have been changes – all entries and signing on are online, you have to print off a copy of the test diagrams and you may have to wear a face covering dependant on the COVID 19 guidelines at the time of the event, but looking forward we are now able participate in Motorsport again, we have to adapt to the new normal.
The Championship will consist of a possible 8 rounds spread across the country from May to November, we have a new club supporting the Championship – East Ayrshire Car Club who will be running their counter at Kames on Sun.14/11/21.
I am really excited to announce that the South of Scotland Car Club round will be held alongside the British Championship event at Lockerbie on Sat. 17/07/21 the tests for the Scottish Championship entrants will be less technical, but I am sure they will be great tests, even if you are not competing it is well worth the trip down to watch the best Autotest drivers from across the UK and Ireland going head to head.
The revised 2021 event list will be published shortly along with the current Championship driver standings.
