Scottish Autotest Championship 2022
Happy New year and I hope you are well and keeping safe.
Please find HERE the Championship Regulations for the 2022 SAMSC Scottish Autotest Championship, there have some changes since I produced the draft set, there will now be 7 rounds with the best 5 to count and we will not be using the Saltire event, or the later GMSC event, therefore the last event will be in September. This season we have changed the classes slightly and there will be a class solely for MX5s, there will still be a class for HEVs and EVs.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey, the majority seem to favour less tests, with more runs at each test, this would also benefit the competitors as they have less to remember and should also make progress during the day, also this would help the organisers with less set up and changes. I know each Club / venue is different but I would encourage Clubs to try this proposal and also when designing the tests make the gates wide enough to make a nice flowing test.
Could you please circulate these Regs. via social media and websites to as many people as possible to encourage new competitors into Autotesting, we need to promote the Championship to a wider audience.
GMSC will be running The Valentine All Forward Autotest/ PCA at Knockhill on Sat. 12th Feb. this is a non championship event and is being run primarily as a training event for the Junior 1000 drivers but the event is open to any one and could be a good chance to test your car prior to the first Championship counter in March.
If you have any queries please get in touch
Thanks
