Membership Renewal
Glenrothes Motor Sport Club – Membership Renewal
Thank you to all of those members who have already renewed their membership, your support really is appreciated!
For those existing members who are yet to renew and those that are new to us, the club welcomes and invites you to renew your membership now and the form to do so can be found on our website at http://glenrothes-msc.com/about/membership/ .
On completion of the form, you‘ll receive an email acknowledgement and PDF copy of your membership ‘card’ which can be printed.. and can also just be kept as a handy electronic version for use as and when you need it. It’s suggested that you add glenrothesmsc@gmail.com to your contacts folder to ensure you get it but alternatively, do check your spam or junk folder if you appear not to have yet received it! Any issues at all though, just email or call me and I’ll deal with it accordingly.
We look forward to receiving your renewal in due course and wish you a very active and enjoyable 2023 motorsport season in whichever way you participate in it!
Becoming active within the Club..
Glenrothes MSC is an active club and always welcomes offers of assistance on the committee and with our premier Summer and Kingdom Stages rally events, Autotests, Trials, etc and of course our Single Venue Rally Championship! So please don’t be shy! If you think that you’d like to become involved behind the scenes, do drop me a line indicating any particular interest you might have, and I’ll make sure that it’s taken forward. Please don’t be concerned about not having any knowledge or experience, we’ve all had to start at the beginning and we’ll make sure that your either buddied up or shadowed as you learn the ropes.. I really do look forward to hearing from you!
We’re particularly interested in hearing from anyone that has media and club promoting passion.. and particularly in relation to our SSVRC Championship! If your good with social media or in fact any form of reporting and promotion, we’d love to hear from you.. please do just drop me a line!
Glenrothes MSC – AGM
The club’s Annual General Meeting is scheduled to take place early March, the date, time and place of which will be confirmed to all members in a separate email soon. This is your chance to become more involved with how the club operates and the things that it does – if you’re passionate about motorsport, the club’s position in it and have a vision of how its future and direction should be.. now’s your chance to influence all of these things in a way that’s not only beneficial to you.. but potentially everyone!
It’s your club.. and your feelings and thoughts are important and count.. use the AGM as the platform to make a change!
Scottish Single Venue Rally Championship
Our very successful SSVRC Championship has been approved by Motorsport UK for 2023 and Regulations for it can be found on our website at http://glenrothes-msc.com/2023/01/2023-ssvrc-regulations/, and competitors can register here: https://forms.gle/hTkERKZ4TyCY7y7h9. The registration fee is £10.00.
The events forming the Championship are: –
- Round 1 – Grant Construction Stages Rally at Knockhill – Sunday February 19th
- Round 2 – Albar Stages Rally at Kames Complex – Sunday May 14th
- Round 3 – Summer Stages Rally at Crail Airfield – Saturday 10th June
- Round 4 – Mach 1 Stages Rally at Machrihanish Airfield – Saturday/Sunday 8th & 9th July – this event is a double header with points being scored both days!
- Round 5 – Grab it by the Hall’s Rally at Kames Complex – Sunday 20th August
- Round 6 – Kingdom Stages Rally at Crail Airfield – Saturday
All rounds are spectator friendly, so you’ll have easy access to view the action.. even more so if you offer to assist in marshalling.. and its free too!
Marshalling
Due to the need to reduce spectator injury risk at motorsport events, marshalling is now the only way to get really close to the action! As I’m sure you all know, Motorsport simply cannot happen without the support of marshals, so if you if you haven’t marshalled previously or if you have but it was a long time ago, now’s your chance to change that and become a real part of the action! Feel you’re too inexperienced.. or out of touch with current practise? Don’t worry at all about that because you’ll be paired up with an experienced rally marshal who’ll be more than happy to show you the ropes.. For info, the Club in conjunction with Scottish Motorsport Training plan to run a marshal taster session at our Summer Stages event at Crail in June (as well as others), so there’ll be an opportunity to participate in a controlled and nurturing environment! Just let me know if you’re interested and I’ll make sure you get more info nearer the time.

and to conclude..
We look forward to welcoming you back to Fife and east central Scotland’s premier motorsport club in the not too distant future!!
