ย ๐ 12th July.ย
The fifth round of the Blasting Magic 2026 Scottish Single Venue Rally Championship brought the Mach 1 weekend to a spectacular conclusion as crews returned to tackle the demanding sealed-surface stages at Machrihanish Airbase on Sunday 12th July.
A huge thank you once again to our 2026 championship sponsors for their continued support:
Blasting Magic, JW Electrical (Fife), McIntyre Masonry, Motorwise Rescue & Recovery, Mercury Motorsport, Airtech Integrity, Y-MAC Group, Engine 710, Onestop and MAC Grafix. ๐
After Saturday’s intense competition, crews arrived knowing every second counted. The Sunday stages delivered another thrilling day of action, with competitors pushing even harder in the hunt for championship points and class honours.
Every stage produced its own drama:
๐ฅ Late-braking commitment into the technical sections
๐จ Full-commitment exits with tyres fighting for grip
โก Tiny margins separating the fastest crews
๐ Fierce class battles right to the final stage
The second day of the Mach 1 Stages once again demonstrated why the event is regarded as one of Scotland’s premier sealed-surface rallies. The fast straights, tight chicanes and abrasive airfield surface demanded absolute concentration, rewarding precision while punishing even the smallest mistakes.
Crews balanced outright speed with mechanical sympathy as the weekend took its toll on both cars and drivers. Despite tired crews and battle-scarred machinery, the competition remained intense from the opening test to the final flying finish.
As always, the organisers, marshals and volunteers worked tirelessly throughout the day to keep the event running safely and efficiently, a huge credit to๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ Scottish grassroots motorsport๐ and everyone involved behind the scenes.
With another excellent SSVRC entry featuring four-wheel-drive contenders, rapid two-wheel-drive machinery, experienced campaigners and rising talent, Round 5 of the championship rounded off a fantastic weekend of rallying in style.
