Kingdom Stages 1997-2017 – News

Update: Final Instructions, Road Map and the Schedule are now available. Please see Attachments below.

40 years ago the first Kingdom Stages was held, using farm roads around Fife. To celebrate this anniversary we have organised a new format for our event, running stages at both Crail and Leuchars.  It all takes place on Saturday 17th June 2017.

MARSHALS

Come and join us in this event, at either Crail or Leuchars, and play your part in an exciting day of motorsport.  Contact Stewart at marshal@paton-family.co.uk or 07704 440867 to register.  The first 100 marshals registered get a commemorative fleece, in addition to all marshals getting a hot lunch and goodie bags.  Please use the registration forms accessible from the navigation bar.

SET UP

We need lots of help getting the venues ready for this big event. If you are free to help in the previous weekend or in the week leading up, contact Robert at robert.ness@glenrothes-msc.com or via face book on Glenrothes Motor Sport ClubOfficial

COMPETITORS

We still have a few places available, regs are on this site and you can enter on https://rallies.info/webentry/2017/kingdom/  With the different format there’s a bit to know, so here goes….

The rally will start at Crail where competitors will do 2 stages.  There is then a short service then a road section to Leuchars.  There the competing cars will go straight to the arrival control of SS 3.  After SS 4 at Leuchars there is a longer service, and another short service after SS6.  The cars then return to Crail (again straight into arrival control) for SS7.  We hope to run 4 stages at Crail in the afternoon.

Service therefore takes place at both venues, but the most time is at Leuchars.  Each crew will have 1 pass for a service vehicle. This pass has 2 functions; entering Leuchars and re-entering Crail.  Only vehicles with passes and competing vehicles are allowed at Leuchars.

Service crews travel a different route to the competing cars on the road sections.  There is no roadside service and no “emergency” service.  Judges of fact will be in operation.

Any vehicle arriving or returning to Crail after 08:30 will be charged entry unless it is a clearly marked competing car or vehicle carrying the official rally pass.

We can provide event insurance, please see details in the regs, this cannot be purchased on the day so if you need it please book in advance.

Unusually, we have a single venue permit for this event so younger navigators are allowed.

Scrutineering will be at Methil on Friday  c16:00 – 19:00, details in the finals.  As there is an early start on Saturday competitive crews are advised to get checked on Friday.

Juniors:  No scrutineering or signing on, on Friday.  The Junior event is likely to start around 10.30 on Saturday, so scrutineering on the morning is fine.  However, note vehicles arriving after 08:30 will be charged entry, even competing crews.

Tyres: Andrew Wood and Wheels Around are both attending but both will be at Crail only.

SPECTATORS

Marshals get the best view but must register in advance.  See above for details.  Other spectators can watch at Crail, with entry charged per car.  Action starts at 8am and will be on all day.  Leuchars is a live base and therefore no spectators are permitted.

MEDIA

As usual this is by invitation only.
